My journal goals

I tried to find an old post about all these journal entries and poems and what not's but gave up because I'm not too organized with all this stuff. I just wanted to find the post about my goals as to why I'm writing all this stuff down on a blog and add to it... a big problem is lots of stuff is missing, pages torn out, pieces of pages torn out, sections of one journal found mixed in with sections of other journals, journals that became lost in time, others thrown away by random mistake. All this stuff that remains has been kept in boxes over the years shuffled back and forth between moves (when I was single and married) and most of it just ended up in my old file cabinet-- a clutter of loose papers and notebooks mixed in with old college journals, exams, writing papers and letters. So what I have is a big mess and my goal is to retain that which I can, meaningful or trivial. Just type it all down on Word documents as well as back it up all here, online (where no one even knows about it anyway and if anyone is reading this, it is because they mistakenly stumbled upon it while searching for other stuff) in the event, my computer or back up hard drive shits the bed. I'll have it all backed up online where it is not pass protected and if my sons every want to read it someday when they are adults and I'm gone from this world, it will be all there at their fingertips. No passwords necessary.

One more thing, when I'm done with this project, I'd like to organize it by years. Also, thinking about trying that Dragon software where you talk and it writes for you. I researched it a couple of years ago but there seemed to be too many bugs at the time. Maybe they've made it more user friendly. It would certainly save me a bunch of time in the long run.
